Nokia Lumia 1020

Review and specifications of Nokia Lumia 1020:

System specifications:

This latest Nokia smartphone is powered Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system with 1.5 GHz Krait Dual-Core processor and DualComm MSM 8960 Snapdragon chipset. This smartphone comes with 32 GB non-expandable internal storage and 2 GB RAM. Along with lots of internal storage capacity with a reasonable RAM of 2 GB, the 1.5 GHz dual core processor can give this Windows phone somewhat good processing speed. But users may feel little uneasy with it’s non-expandable storage system, because they’ll have to delete some data periodically, otherwise it may cause the phone little slow processing.

Display measures:

Nokia Lumia 1020 comes with a big 4.5 inches multitouch AMOLED capacitive touch screen which has a total 16 million distinct color variation capacity. This big screen has a 768×1200 px resolution resulting 332 ppi pixel density, which is little bit lower than it’s main Android competitor Samsung Galaxy S4 which comes in the same price range (around $799 internationally).
It’s ClearBlack display is powered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which gives smart protection against all kind of mechanical scratch and dust resulting disturbed vision.

Camera and audio-video output specifications:

For the first time in the smartphone world, Nokia is creating a history with an extensive 41 megapixel camera in it’s recently launched Lumia 1020 Windows smartphone. This 41 MP camera gives 7152×5368 px resolution with effective 38 MP landscape/portrait photographic frame with extensive Xenon LED flash. With 1/1.5″ sensor and 1.12 micron pixel size Carl Zeiss optics & PureView technology powered mega zoom lense, this smartphone camera comes with optical image stabilization system for a real HD photographic experience. With autofocus, face detection, dual capture mode, Geo-tagging and panorama shooting mode, this windows smartphone can fulfill almost all your pro photographic needs, in case you are very fond of mobile photography.

Comments on the 41 megapixel camera:

Nokia Lumia 1020 is featuring an extensive 41 MP high resolution camera which will shoot really real high definitation photographs. To process such high resolution camara inputs, a really very strong processor and RAM is needed. But surprisingly, this Lumia generation from Nokia holds only 1.5 GHz dual-core with 2 GB of RAM! It is definitely not that much enough to process smoothly. So, if you are going to use this smartphone to fulfill you photographic needs, then you must set all the RAM free for a faster work with the CPU. That means, in case you want to capture and store faster, then you’ll have to say bye bye to games and other utilities which consumes more CPU and RAM. Otherwise the camera will take more and more time to finish processing and saving the click you just shot (even system hang may occur, as seen in other Nokia variants). Other than these, you can still enjoy a real HD photography with your smartphone, which was never possible before!

For audio recording purposes, this smartphone has a dedicated mic for active voice cancellation technoloy which reduces background noise in your clip.
The rear 41 MP camera can record videos with 4x lossless digital zooming and 1080p @30 frame per second speed.
The handset also comes with a 1.2 MP front camera for live video calling purposes which can record 720p videos @30 fps speed.

Connectivity and Battery specifications:

For connectivy and navigation, Lumia 1020 has 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi Dual-band DLNA and A-GPS with GLONASS support.

Battery: Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows smartphone is powered by a non-removable 200 mAh Li-ion (BV-5XW) battery which gives 384 hours of standby and 19 hrs on 2G and 13 hrs 20 minutes on 3G talktime battery backup. This battery can give a music playing backup upto 63 continuous hours.

SIM support: Single Micro SIM supported.

Color range:

Nokia Lumia 1020 is available in Yellow, White, Black and Red (exclusively for AT & T) color range.

Dimension & weight: 130.4×71.4×10.4 mm & 158 g.

Price:

The price of Nokia Lumia 1020 will be around $799 in international market. However, there may be slight rise or fall in the local stores globally.

Conclusion:

To continue their kingdom one step ahead with something extra, Nokia has added this 41 megapixel smartphone in their royal family. Of course Lumia 1020 comes with the never before camera resolutions, but we should still remember that they have not much upgraded other specifications supporting the camera and all over processing speed. So, as I have already stated, this smartphone is the best one for photographic needs, still you should choose smartly.
